15//05/24 MATCHDAY FIVE - WHITEROCK LEISURE CENTRE

Back on the road tonight to cover yet another match for the NIWFA, this time its Belfast Celtic v Sion Swifts in the Championship - promises to be a belter, see you there!

14/05/24  THE BIRTHDAY GIRL

So today we wish the wonderful Jana a very happy 22nd Birthday.

Jana first got involved with 1880 back in 2022 when she stepped in at short notice to assist with our coverage of the Women’s European Championship and has been a key player in our team ever since and she is, of course, the presenter of the “NI Women’s Football Show”

It’s been great to witness her development as a sports journalist over the last few years but more importantly it’s been a blessing to have her friendship and support during her time at 1880.

Have a great day Jana!

11/05/24 THE SOUND OF DRUMS

Decent enough game in Ballymena last night although ears are still ringing to the constant use of the “lambeg drums” in the background :-)  You can hear these for yourself no doubt on our highlights

10/05/24  WAKEHURST PLAYING FIELDS

Next up a visit to Ballymena for the NIWFA Division 4 league game between Raceview v Ballynahinch Olympic, looking like a great night for it, best of luck to both sides

09/05/24  MOBILE MEDIA

Massive thanks to Paul from Mobile Media for his support in helping us cover last nights NIWFA game between Camlough Rovers & SOP.

Unfortunately Colin was unable to make this one due to a prior engagement and our other cameramen were unavailable due to the North West and just arriving back from the states!

Thanks also to Jana for making the journey down on her own to log the game and doing post match interviews.

Hopefully we can continue to build our relationship with Mobile Media in the months ahead.

Thanks everyone!

02/05/24  NVTV STUDIOS

Back in the studios tonight to record the latest edition of the “NI Women's Football Show”

There's a change in content this week as Jana is joined by Colin to discuss the season ahead for the teams of the NI Football Womens Premiership and the NI Women's Football Association leagues. This episode also features brief interviews with players from all of the Women's Premiership teams as well as match highlights and interviews from the NI Women's Football Association Championship game between Bangor Ladies and Comber Rec Ladies.

01/05/24 CLANDEBOYE PARK, BANGOR

NIWFA Championship Pacesetters Bangor Ladies showed their class in this one defeating Comber Rec 6-0 to make it three wins from three at the start of the new season. That said Comber battled hard and refused to lie down which will no doubt stand them well in the remainder of the season.

29/04/24 ULIDIA PLAYING FIELDS

Back on the road tonight for an NIWFA Division one game between Rosario Ladies v Ambassadors Ladies which turned out to be a highly entertaining game of football played in the proper spirit, well done to both sides - highlights online

27/04/24 LOCAL WOMEN SPORT AWARDS

A night of Glam for 1880's Jana who was helping to host the 2024 Local Womens Sports awards to honour those women who have played a massive part in developing sport for females across Northern Ireland - looking well Jana and well done!

26/04/24  DRUMGOR ROAD - CRAIGAVON CITY

After another fun filled argument with sat nav to find the ground - this time we were covering NIWFA Division Two for the match between Craigavon City Lades v Strabane Athletic Ladies, a game which featured four goals, a red card and an injury time penalty, highlights from this game can be found on our home page

25/04/24  BALLYMENA SHOWGROUNDS

Great game to cover last night as Ballymena United Women defeated Sion Swifts 3-2 in the latest round of fixtures in the NIWFA Championship. Five goals and two red cards, sure what's not to like in this one - the match highlights will be online shortly

24/04/24 PRE-SEASON INTERVIEWS

Pre-season interviews ahead of the start of the 2024 Sports Direct Women's Premiership completed at Windsor Park last night. Thanks to all of the teams for supplying interviewees and to the NI Football League (NIFL) for their kind invitation to attend the event. Sadly Rachel B was unable to attend due to car trouble which left her stuck some 50 miles away but we got there in the end - good luck to all of the competing teams this season! You can see the interviews for yourself on our homepage

23/04/24 NEXT STOP WINDSOR -

It's the start of another busy week for 1880 which sees Colin & Rachel B heading off to the national stadium at Windsor Park tonight to cover the launch of the 2024 NIFL Sports Direct Women's Premiership. The plan is to get to do some face-to-face video content with some of the players who will feature in this years tournament for use on our social media as well as within the next episode of the “NI Women's Football Show”

22/04/24 IT NEVER STOPS

Life at 1880 just keeps getting busier and busier, last week we were creating content for the NI Womens Football Assoication Official league launch, a Junior Shield final and our first game of the NI Women's Football Association new season which will keep us busy until August - it never stops but we love it!
